Three items to an area is enough to rank the eight areas against each other and not enough to grade any one of them. An area you genuinely know 70 percent of comes back at one right out of three, or none, about one run in five, on the draw alone. Read the order first and the number second.
The overall figure carries roughly 9 points of sampling error on 24 items, so treat 65 and 74 as the same result.
It is not a prediction of your exam result and it is not scored the way you will be scored. The Texas journeyman exam is two portions passed separately at 70 percent each, 80 scored items between them, drawn from a subject blueprint PSI publishes. This is 24 questions written for this site and arranged three to an area so that the areas can be compared.
It is not weighted like the exam either, and that is the point of it. 15 of these 24 items sit in the calculation areas. On the real journeyman paper 24 of the 80 scored items are calculations. Equal weight per area is what makes the comparison between areas fair, and it is also what stops the overall figure from standing in for an exam score.
The line across each meter marks 70 percent, which is what each portion of the real exam is passed at. It is there so an area is read against something. It is not a verdict on these 24 questions.
The marks go on the order of operations rather than the lookup. Correction and adjustment both apply and they multiply, and a termination rating can cap a figure you worked out correctly.
